As a barbs family, Cherry Barbs likes to hang out with other barb species like Rosy Barb. Both Cherry Barbs and Rosy Barbs are peaceful fish. They will school very well and live happily together in a tank.

Since neon tetras are peaceful, this fish can befriend the fish Cherry Barb. Furthermore, they are similar in size. They can live together without any drama, although they tend to hang out in the middle levels of the tank.

Cory catfish are my favorite fish to pair with Cherry Barb. They are tiny and non-aggressive. This calm and friendly creature loves to hang around with other peaceful fish like Cherry Barb.

Green swordtails are a great addition to the Cherry Barb tank as both fish are of opposite colors, which makes for an excellent combination. Besides, the long features of Green Swordstaill counter the small features of Cherry Barb. Note that the male swordtail sometimes becomes aggressive if other males are in the tank.

The cherry barb should be fine with the angels. Angelfish are known to be calm; they aren't fin nippers. Thus, they can be housed together. However, if you place Angelfish in a tank, ensure there aren't any smaller fish like neon tetras because these fish can be predatory.

Slender danios are also similar in size to cherry barbs, so they can live together in a single aquarium. Since cherry barbs are active fish, they will form a great relationship with active fish like Slender danios.
